Dentists |
 |
Paul Hellyer Paul qualified
from University College Hospital, London in 1971. After working
for 5 years in various roles in the school dental service
and general practices in the Crawley area, he joined the practice
in 1977. In 1987 Paul commenced a part time Master’s degree
in Gerodontology (dentistry for older people) at the Royal
London Hospital, successfully completing the degree in 1989.
He then continued at the hospital in a number of part-time
research posts, and returned to general practice full time
in 1994.
Although Paul enjoys treating a wide spectrum of patients,
from the youngest to the oldest, his particular interest remains
dentistry for older people, trying to help them to maintain
their natural teeth for a whole life time. Where this is not
possible, he enjoys prosthetics (denture work) forming a good
team with an excellent local dental technician, Julia Christie.
Paul is married with 2 children. In his spare time, he enjoys
working with young people, having run youth groups at local
churches and Bexhill Youth Centre, and served as school governor
for many years. This year, Paul has worked as a volunteer
dentist with Mercy Ships in Liberia. Photos of the trip can
be seen here.
